Up until the 1950's this was the biggest selling beer style in the UK. Lightly hopped & easy drinking, dark milds were brewed to slake the thirst of the working man in the heavily industrialized areas of the Midlands & North East.

Doctor Okell's.
IPA.
ABV 4.5%
Doctor Okell's IPA is a light coloured beer with a surprisingly full bodied taste. The sweetness is offset by a very strong hopping rate. This gives the finished beer an overall roundness with very spicy lemony notes & a fine dry finish to counteract the initial sweetness.

Young's.
Special.

ABV 4.5%

Amber in colour, Young's Special has a fruity, slightly estery nose with a good hop aroma & full round flavour, a fine balance between malt & hops. 100% Malt brew: Marris Otter & crystal malt with Fuggles & Goldings hops creates a satisfying rounded pale ale .

XXXB.

ABV 4.8%

A superb classic bitter with a complex palate of robust hop flavour balanced by malt. Triple XB (XXXB) has been judged Premium Beer on the Year by The Campaign For Real Ale at the Great British Beer Festival on no than five occasions.

Jennings.
Yan T'Yan Tethera.

ABV 3.8%

Light gold coloured ale with subtle nutty, caramel & a creamy satin finish.
